Desi Murgh Ka Shorba

Let us have a look of its making/preparation or cooking in MHK’s own style. We are going to make it in simple, easy and quick way to add an interesting main course meal dish:

Ingredients:

Daise Chicken (دیسی مرغ): 3/4 Kg (750 Grams)

(With Skin; Washed and cut in small pieces)

Onion (پیاز): 1X

(Medium size & cut in small pieces)

Ginger (ادرک): 1 Tea Spoon (Grated)

Garlic (لہسن): 1 Table Spoon (Fine chopped)

Daise Ghee (دیسی گھی): 3~4 Table Spoon

(Oil can also be used but in original recipe the same is used)

Black Pepper (کالی مرچ): 1 Tea Spoon

Turmeric (ہلدی): 1/2 Tea Spoon

Salt (نمک): 1 Tea Spoon

Coriander Powder (دھنیا): 1 Tea Spoon

Whole Spices:-

Black Cardamom (کالی الائچی): 1 X

Green Cardamom (سبز الائچی): 2~3X

Cinnamon (دار چینی): 1~3 Sticks

Clove (لونگ): 3~4X

Black Pepper (کالی مرچ): 5~6X

Procedure:

Step-1: Place clay pot on the stove and let it to be hot before use then add daise ghee, let it melt.

 

Step-2: Add whole spices and fry a little. & add onion and fry the same till it turns into transparent.

 

Step-3: Add Turmeric, Black pepper & Salt with a little amount of water and cook till the smell of spices is felt.

 

Step-4: At this stage add chicken in it and fry for 7~10 minutes, then add black pepper in the last and cook further for 2~3 minutes.

 

Step-5: Now add 1.5 liter of water, stir a little and place lid on the pot, initially cook at high flame for 5 minutes & then on medium flame for further 30~40 minutes.

Step-6: Now it is ready dish it out, sprinkle some amount of crushed black pepper and serve accordingly.

 

 

 

Tip-1: Here clay pot is going to be used for cooking as both (Daise murgh & clay pot) takes time in cooking therefore you may use pressure cooker for the same.

 

Tip-2: No use of Red or Green Chili as it is a preventive food however use of TURMERIC is useful in healing process.

 

Tip-3: After adding black pepper don't fry much the chicken as it may lost its taste and smell in the gravy.

 

Tip-4: If it is being cooked in pressure cooker amount of water will be reduced to almost 01 liter
