Lasagne(لزانیہ)e

Lasagne is an interesting main course meal dish originally belong to Italy but now a days it is used/served across the globe. It is mainly made with pasta flat strips and cheese etc. Its natural nutrients are fiber, protein, iron, and calcium consequently these nutrients are helpful in preventing from diseases cause by their deficiencies.

Let us have a look on this recipe in MHK’s style. We are going to cook it in simple, easy and quick way to add and interesting main course meal dish:

It is prepared in four major steps:

Step-1: Lasagne strips preparation

Step-2: Chicken filling making for it

Step-3: Making of white sauce to be used in it

Step-4: Assembling & Baking

Ingredients & Procedure for Step-1

Lasagne strips preparation:

Ingredients:

Pasta Strips (پاستہ پٹی): 1 Packet

Salt (نمک):1 Tea Spoon

Oil (خوردنی تیل): 2 Table Spoon

Procedure for Preparation of Lasagne Strips:

Step-1: Put pan on stove on medium to high flame and pour water to boil, add salt and 2 table spoon oil in it.

 

Step-2: Now add lasagne strips in the water and let it boil at medium flame for 6~8 minutes.

Step-3: When strips become soft, off the flame and strained it and pass cool water, apply oil on each strip and set apart from each other.

Preparation of Chicken Filling:

Ingredients for Making of Lasagne Filling:

1. Chicken Mince (چکن قیمہ): 1/2 Kg

2. Onion (پیاز): 02 Medium size (roughly chopped in small pieces)

3. Tomato (ٹماٹر): 03 Medium size (roughly chopped in small pieces)

4. Capsicum (شملہ مرچ): 01 Medium size (roughly chopped in small pieces)

5. Green Chili (ہری مرچ): 01 (finely chopped in small pieces)

6. Garlic (لہسن): 02 Table Spoon (finely chopped in small pieces)

7. Tomato (ٹماٹر) Ketchup: 4 Table Spoon

8. Salt (نمک): 1 Tea Spoon

9. Oil (خوردنی تیل): 4 Table Spoon

10.  Crushed Red Chili (دڑا مرچ): 1 Tea Spoon

11. Black Pepper (کالی مرچ) : 1 Tea Spoon

12. Oregano (آریگینو): 1 Tea Spoon (Optional)

13. Cumin (زیرہ) Powder: 1 Tea Spoon (If oregano is not available)

 

Procedure for Making of Lasagne Filling:

Step-1: Add oil in pan and let it to be hot, then pour onion and fry a little and when its colour is changed add chopped garlic.

Step-2: Now add chicken mince in it and fry it till the colour of chicken turns into white.

Step-3: Add mix spices along with tomatoes in the chicken, mix them and further steam cook for 2~3 minutes till tomatoes are tendered.

Step-4: Add tomato ketchup when tomatoes are tendered and mix further add a cup of water and fry for 5 minutes at medium flame till the mince is tendered.

Step-5: add capsicum and green chili, mix and fry further at medium to high flame till the batter is ready.

Preparation of White Sauce:

Ingredients for Making of White Sauce:

1. Milk: 500 ml (2 Cups)

2. Oil: 1 Table Spoon

3. All-Purpose Flour: 2 Table Spoon

4. Black Pepper: 1/2 Tea Spoon

5. Salt: 1 Table Spoon

Procedure for Making of White Sauce:

Step-1: Add cake all-purpose flour (میدہ) in a hot oil and fry a little bit.

Step-2: Now add milk (دودھ) in it and stir continuously to avoid solid particles in the mixture.

Step-3: Add salt (نمک) also and keep on stirring at medium flame.

Step-4: Then add (کالی مرچ) in the batter.

Step-5: when the required density is achieved, turn off the flame and white sauce is ready.

Ingredients & Procedure for Step-4

Assembling & Baking:

Ingredients for Assembling & Baking of Lasagne:

1. Lasagne Strips: Step-1

2. Chicken Filling: Step-2

3. White Sauce: Step-3

4. Chadder Cheese: 1 cup

5. Mozreela Cheese: 1 cup

6. Capsicum: 1/2 Cup

7. Tomato: 1/2 Cup

8. Baking Dish: 1 appropriate size/shape

Procedure for Making of Assembling & Baking of Lasagne:

Step-1: Make first layer at bottom of chicken mince batter.

Step-2: Pour white sauce on it and then chadder and mozreela cheese layer is added on it.

Step-3: Now place the lasagne strips on the batter smoothly to finalize the first layer.

Step-4: Repeat the same process for remaining layers.

Step-5: In last after applying the layers of all items garnish it with capsicum & Tomato and may sprinkle black pepper (crushed) as per taste.....

Step-7: Bake it in oven (pre-heated at 180) for 15 minutes and now ready to serve.
