Chicken Curry with Poppy Seeds (چکن کری خشخاش کے ساتھ) is a unique & healthy recipe especially for those who are conscious about their health and diet. Here #MHK is going to demonstrate its making in such a manner that everyone could prepare it easily at home. Now let’s see what the required ingredients are and how to make this simple, easy, quick and delicious/tasty recipe in our kitchen at home.

Ingredients:

1. Chicken: 1.5 Kg (Properly Washed)

2. Poppy Seeds: 100 Grams (Properly Washed & Soaked in water for 1 Hours)

3. Onion (پیاز): 3X (Medium size & slice cut)

4. Tomato: 7X (Small size)

5. Green Chili: 3X

6. Garlic+Ginger Paste (لہسن ادرک پیسٹ): 2 Table Spoons

7. Oil (تیل): 3/4 Cup

8. Salt (نمک): 1.5 Tea Spoon

9. Red Chili Powder (): 1.5 Tea Spoon

10. Mix Spice () Powder: 1 Tea Spoon

11. Coriander Powder (دھنیا): 2 Tea Spoons

12. Turmeric Powder (ہلدی): 3/4 Tea Spoon

13. Black Cardamom (موٹی الائچی): 1X

14. Green Cardamom (): 3X

15. Clove (لونگ): 3X

16. Cinnamon Sticks (دار چینی): 3~4X

Procedure:

*-***-*-*-***-*-*-*-*-*

1. Prepare paste of tomato & green chili.

2. Make a paste of poppy seeds in its soaked water.

3. Pour oil in cooking pan and let it to become hot.

4. Add in onion and fry till it gets golden brown.

5. Add in ginger & garlic paste, fry till its smell is felt.

6. Now add in powder spices & fry further at low flame.

7. Give a splash of water and mix a little at medium flame.

8. Add in tomato & Poppy seeds paste, mix further well.

9. Fry the mixture on medium to high flame.

10. When oil become visible on the surface add in chicken.

11. Mix well and cover it with lid for 2~3 minutes.

12. Now cook it well in the water released by the chicken at low to medium flame.

13. Add reasonable amount of water to tender the chicken & make a required gravy.

14. After mixing well, steam cook on high flame for 5 minutes.

15. When curry starts boiling further steam cook for 10 minutes on low flame.

16. Remove lid, mix a little and squeeze a lemon in the gravy.

17. Sprinkle green coriander, Julian cut ginger & mix spices powder.

18. In last cover with lid for 2 minutes and then dish it out.
