Original Balochi Chicken Karahi:
It is a unique main course meal recipe, cooked in a unique style to satisfy our taste buds at maximum with minimum use of ingredients. It is a typical traditional, popular and simple dish of our brave and patriotic Balochs. In other words we can say it is a spice free recipe as there is no use of spices in it except black pepper.
Its main ingredients are chicken, tomato (ٹماٹر) and Green Chili (ہری مرچ) but now let us see how this delicious dish is prepared with simple ingredients:
Ingredients for Balochi Chicken Karahi:
Chicken (چکن): 1+1/2 Kg
Tomato (ٹماٹر): 1/2 Kg
Green Chili (ہری مرچ): 7~8 (or as per taste)
Garlic (لہسن): 2 (Medium size)
Vinegar (سفید سرکہ): 4 Table Spoon
Cooking Oil (تیل): 1 Cup
Salt (نمک): 1 Table Spoon
Black Pepper (کالی مرچ): 1 Table Spoon
Procedure for Making of Balochi Chicken Karahi:
Step-1: Add paste of Garlic and salt in hot oil and fry it a little bit.
Step-2: Add chicken in it and fry it on high flame until its colour is changed.
Step-3: When colour of chicken turned into white add vinegar in it and steam cook (دم) for 3~4 minutes on low flame
Step-4: When water is released from chicken, add tomato and green chili in it and again steam cook it for 5 minutes without mixing the gravy.
Step-5: Now on high flame fry it further for 10~15 minutes until the required level of water/curry is attained.
Step-6: At last sprinkle crushed black pepper on the gravy and further stem cook on low flame for 2~3 minutes.
Step-7: Ready to serve.
